Price stickers visible in photographs are historical labels from Edd’s card shop about 25 years ago. They are not current asking prices or current market valuations.
Edd’s collection, in his own words.
A personal sports-card collection, organized across boxes, binders, and card groups, and now being documented for a whole-collection sale.
I started collecting sports cards in the 1950s, with the Red Sox, of course, as my favorite team.
As an adult, I got to know other collectors around Maine. We would get together to trade and swap cards. Joel Romano and I also traveled to card shows throughout the state and across New England.
After retiring from the State of Maine, I opened Triple Play Sports. I ran the shop from 1996 to 2006—ten years of collecting, trading, buying, and selling.
My favorite card is the 1950 Bowman Ted Williams. The 1955 Topps set is another highlight of the collection, including the Roberto Clemente and Sandy Koufax cards.
A closer look, one group at a time.
The inventory provides the overview. Front-and-back photographs make individual cards easier to inspect. Both will continue to grow together as the collection is reviewed.
